So say I pay professional, reputable SEO to rank a site for me. Lets say he charges me $1000 to get to the first page of google. What is he going to spend the money on? What do the people that sell SEO services spend money on that we can't spend it on ourselves? The only thing I can think of is purchasing links, which I've heard repeatedly is bad. Are they spending this on the campaign or are you just paying for their personal expertise mostly?
Obviously they have to charge for the work itself. If they invested all of your money back into your site, how would they make any money? A good seo is worth a lot. Think of how much more business you could do if you were ranked in the top 3 on Google for your main keywords.
Yes, I know they're taking a cut for themselves. I'm not stupid. But is it all for themselves, or are they doing anything else with the money?
Basically you are paying someone to do the work for you. If you do not have the time or the knowledge, then it is well worth the money. If you have the time and a simple understanding of SEO, then do it yourself and save the money.
The money goes to several places depending on how the SEO company is set up. If it was a single person doing the work for you, the money is going into their pocket only. If it is a company, it goes into the company's pocket to pay workers and build the company's equity. Money could also be split up to pay external content writers, and other expenses that the SE pays for you as part of their service.
It depends very much on the site in question itself. Age, size, competition, targeted search terms (and the knowledge of the SEO) how the goals you expect, can be achieved. I personally, prefer to use all my onpage possibilities before I start with link building, for example. But that's because I am able to gain rankings faster and with a lot less of work this way, than link building requires usually. On the other hand there might be a serious link-builder out there, with a huge database gathered by own experience and getting links is "close to nothing" for him; so of cause he will spend his time mainly on link building and anchor text.
I used to think to hire servicewarp.net to make seo for me. But i think better try and learn about it by myself first. How long will it take to make SEO success for a site.
I guess you do not know much about SEO.. It is not buying links.. Professional SEO requires tons of qualifications (know-how, web development/design, content writing, link exchange, web server administration, etc etc.), and some web resources to achive top rankings with very competitive search terms.. If you think you can do it by yourself, then just do it Thanks
I'm not a SEO expert at all, nor do I claim to be. I do have many sites ranking #1 for some profitable keywords, and I make $100+ a day online. So I do know something. I'm just curious if the people charging for services are charging for time and effort or are putting that money to use directly. It makes no difference to me how it's being used, I was just curious if there was something I was missing. I doubt you are an SEO expert either, we all have more to learn.
