3 way vs. reciprocal linking

Can somebody explain me how 3 way linking is better than reciprocal linking? I have read that reciprocal linking, if done correctly can increase Pagerank in your site.

Some SEO agencies are now giving link building services using 3 way linking but I don't think it adds value to user if linking is between unrelated sites. They say that reciprocal is bad even when search engines recommend it in their guidelines.

I have done reciprocal linking with good results.

I am getting a lot of requests for three way linking and it rarely makes sense to me. Usually, almost always the request is for me to link to a site that is relevent to mine so that makes good sense to them but they want some random, crack head site with no pr, random sites that is not relevant to mine linking to mine, often they will even offer to have two of these creepy sites link to mine. Watch out as I don't go for those 3 ways. Also, on a couple I emailed back asking that the deal be modified and they never get back to me.At least the three ways that I am being offered are whack

3 way linking is better because each site is getting a one way link. Google can see when you link back to a site that also links to you. Many people believe that Google gives less credit to a link when you are also linking back to them.

As richromo stated, it can be quite difficult to find good 3 way link exchanges. Many spammer seo companies use this technique and mass e-mail their request to hundreds of websites. They expect people to do a link exchange to get a link on some spam directory or some other PR0 website.

Some ppl believe 3-way linking is better cause of the ip issue.

But the problem is that it's hard to keep track of which links are still active. Because there are people who will do a link exchange and just take you off after a couple months.

Reciprocal link building in not very beneficial but yes if we do link exchange with the high PR websites, its better. It is also risky to exchange links with link farms. So Choose the best websites for the link exchanges.

What about a 3 way link service, such as www dot 3waylinks dot net - from Jonathan Leger? I understand that there are other sites that offer the same service. Any thoughts or comments?

Sorry, I can't post live links yet, so remove spaces and substitute "." where you see "dot" if you are wondering about the site I am asking about.

I tried 3 Way Links for a while but then quickly decided against it. I used it for some sites I did not care about anyway, but there is a serious problem with the whole way that 3 way links work.

Yes, Google CAN find those 3 way links and trace them and see that they are just glorified reciprocal links. Google and other search engines will give you the ole slap for these links because they look spammy.

I then started using Linkvana (in my sig below) and found it to be amazing. I seriously shot my websites for certain competitive keywords to the first page of Google in just a couple weeks. This uses One way links which are permanent and on blogs that are sometimes 6 years old and are PR2-PR5.

3 way links building is certainly better than reciprocal linking. Build a quality blog network for this technique to be effective. Offer your link partner a link from you blog(s) in exchange for a link to the website you would like to promote. Site wide / sidebar blog links are very enticing and effective
