Is it normal for earning per click decrease over time?

At first I got like $0.50 to $2.50 / click. Now getting 2.5cents/click.

I personally get $0.03 all the time. But some times, this increases a little. Adsense is not constant so yeah, this fluctuation in earning per click is normal

It all depends on how much the advertisers are paying. If they don't get ROI, why will they pay high?

Thanks for the quick and nice answers. It seem like people get the same problem too.

Do you try to increase ROI? Or it should be the advertiser to try that?

I had the same problem a couple of days ago, but things are starting to improve since a get more quality traffic. Therefore work on content + traffic.

well there's always fluctuations in the earning you get per click. It's never stable because it depends on the type and quality of ads displayed in your website. Also the earning from ads shown in your website may vary :)

Earnings at the start of a site are almost always a lot higher than the average. Google doesn't know much about the site to begin with so they put the highest paying ads on until they get more content indexed.

Do you have a source for that? They say the continually show the highest paying ads (throughout the network, that's the key, not necessarily on your site, but throughout the ad network) in the first ad unit it runs into in your code. I've never heard that they switch out for lower ones after the site becomes established.

I've gone through dry spells and wet spells as far as ePC throughout the years, sometimes I get a run of great ePC (talking 30-Day MA not just one day or one click) AFTER a period of lower ePC. I don't think it has anything to do with age but rather the quality and content on the site.

    Thanks everyone for great answers.

Do you think that dropping from $0.50/click down to $0.005 (half a cent) per click is something needing worries? This happened to one of my site just today.

Yes, It will depend on the type of ads you are getting. Some advertisers pay more for ads, some pay less. Depends on the quality of your site content, the ads will be displayed. Because some advertisers may not allow their ads to be displayed in some sites.
