Hey, Well, Im completely new to SEO but i have been trying to SEOize my site and probably need an opinion of a SEO expert on how well it has been optimized.. So , pls do lemme know about what needs to be done on the site http://dentalhealthsite.com also im not able to understand what is being set up as my h1 and h2 tags.. from what i could understand from my index.php and some other file in the theme is that my post title is being set up as h2 although i still aint entirely sure on that too. any enlightenment on that wd be appreciated too. thanks
Hi Oblivion19, Couple of SEO thoughts: I think the meta description is key in describing the individual pages of your site. Not primarily because Search Engines look at it, but because people do. The meta description of your home page is currently: "Dental Health Site (DHS) -Source for Dental Health Information". I don't think that's terribly useful for people. First, "(DHS)" may mean something in the dental field, but I sort of doubt it -- it's just cryptic. And the description isn't really the place to repeat your site name. So, what should you include in your description? How about something like "Comprehensive resource describing how to take care of your teeth, and a resource for maintaining good dental health." I don't mean to claim that that's the perfect sentence, but it should accurately describe what your site provides. Google only has 11 pages indexed from your site. I'm assuming that's because your site only has 11 page. Develop some more content! The long tail is your friend in SEO! After good content, the single most important part of SEO is inbound links. I'm seeing 14 IBL for your site, but none from really good sites. Develop some killer content, and then go pitch that content to sites that are interested in the sort of content you have. No link swaps, no link buying! Best of luck! -Chris
