Hi, I want to create a few different nich websites that are not related to one another. Which hosting company do you recommend that will allow this? Do all hosting companies allow this or only some will? I dont' want to create a website then only be able to add a sub domain to it since its totally different. Also, just to confirm..add on domaiins can be a totally different niche? example if my site is abc.com and i do an add on domain xyz.com can my customers type in xyz.com and go there directly and not having to have tot type something lie abc.com/xyz..or however they are placed? Thanks
I use websitespot.com and have had good success. Great rates and when I've needed it (my problem, not theirs) they've had great customer service.
I use www.bluehost.com Here are their specifications: UNLIMITED Hosting Space (NEW!) UNLIMITED File Transfer (NEW!) Host UNLIMITED Domains!!! 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts SSH (Secure Shell), SSL, FTP, Stats CGI, Ruby (RoR), Perl, PHP, MySQL 2000/2002 Front Page Extensions Free Domain Forever! Free Site Builder (NEW) 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support The most important ones are the top 3.
appreciate the hosting advise..ill check the ones you all suggested..how about the second part of my question? do the hosting sites you reccommended let you do multiple domain names? if so how is the best way to do that so that my customers will know its a specific site and not an add on? or if i make them as add ons to my original site that i join with will my customer not know its an add on but a specific nich site?
You must not have read the list I provided you with. #3 is: Host UNLIMITED Domains!!! A domain is something such as youtheye.com or google.com, you can any number of domains you want to the hosting service.
i use fxdomains.com its like godaddy, but accepts paypal balance payments. I get a domain, and immideatly add hosting, easy enough Then i upload my niche site
The only thing they can't really give unlimited is bandwidth, since the wires can only allow so much data to travel through themselves. Although, Bluehost is pretty renowned at being very affordable and has great uptime... I've never had any problems with them thus far.
All even "decent" hosts these days will allow you unlimited domains, I suggest using hostgator for several reasons, not only are the bonuses worth more then the hosting its self, you also get to use cPanel which is exactly what you're going to need if this is your first hosting account.
If you want to be extremely cost efficient you can get a single hosting account, and grab domains from godaddy for example, and simply forward the domain to xyz.com/newsitefolder/index... - I used to do this for a while instead of having to setup actual hosting space per domain etc. *Would only advise you do this until you have enough money/time to set them up properly. I use addon domains to do this within my semi-dedicated server. I'm hosted at www.downtownhost.com. Its great!
