Good news in the sense that with USD strengthening it adds pressure on the oil prices to go down and down it did! It is now about $99 per barrel. The Iranian President must be extremely disappointed, he was determined that the crude oil price remain above $100.

That is not good for Indians i guess, the imports and exports will be high and ultimately, gadgets, mobile phones and appliance rates will go up too.

Though it is good for people who work online and earn in $$$ :)
They are getting a good value for their work.

It's good news for me. I remember the good old days, when I'd be paid in USD, and it would almost double when it hit my Australian bank account.

Maybe, if you're an american :)

Although, be it US or any other country..... the whole world is directly/indirectly related to US's economy.
And right now US is down, it will affect each country..... in the long run.

It's great news for me but I do not want it to rise too much since our economy will be affected negatively.

Not in the short term though...I'm guessing its going to take a pretty hard hit this week with a few more financial institutions hitting really hard times.

    Bear Stearns
    Lehman Brothers
    Merill Lynch
    AIG

All these are extremely respected names, today's headlines are really something. USD strengthens and crude oil is down below $95 but the news are still far from positive and the future is relatively uncertain. Only bright spot is the crude oil prices which will help ease inflation, hopefully for the Fed to relax its policy on interest rates. But then that will affect the strength of the USD. Frankly everything is interrelated. I just know that I won't want to be in the seat of the Fed Chairman now.
