Changing hosting providers

    Hi,

I am changing the hosting providers on my blog, and want to know if there are any plugins that will back up the database so that I can inport it into my new one.

I was thinking of using wordpress's own import feature, but then I realised that the domain name servers would be changed and I wouldn't be able to access the old site.

    Thanks for your time!

Do you have a back up of your home directory as well as DB backup from your old hosting server  Its always advisable to take backup weekly or monthly for your WP DB through Cpanel backup option or else through DBbackup plugin.

    DON.

Go to phpMyAdmin and back up your data. The process isn't difficult at all. Try.. I'm sure you can.

There is a plugin called 'WP Database Backup'. Install that plugin and activate it.

You will receive the back up of your database to your email. You can even fix a schedule like 'Daily' or 'Weekly'.

Hope, this one helps you! :)

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I have done it now.

What I did was export the database from phpmyadmin, and download the wp-content folder. Then I made the database, imported the old tables, uploaded wordpress files, configured wp-config.php, and uploaded my old wp-content, it seems to work fine.

    Thanks for your help anyway!

You can open phpMyAdmin and use the Export function.

If you have a modded blog, and u use cpanel on ur current host and also with the next host, open cpanel and u will find a Backup option in it, use that
