Best Way to Advertise Web Design Firm;

Hello;

I have a web design firm and am wondering what is the best way to advertise it?

I have been getting a steady 1-2 projects (>$500) for the past two months but am hoping to go much greater, as my experience allows me to do so.

I have seen smaller web design firms go door-to-door talking to business in their community. A buddy of mine did this for a few days and picked up 3 clients. He had a company polo shirt on and business cards and hit the road.

 

Do you want to market to a national online type niche or locally?

 

Post in your local Craigslist under creative services for local clients.

 

Google adwards and Craigslist will do the job easily. Just be prepared for many clients to come.

 

Have you tried asking your current clients for referrals? That's a great source.

I am surprised that nobody even mentioned posting your services here on DP. I get most if not all of my clients from here!

 

Contact your state (if you live in the US) and request they send you a list of new LLC and Corp filings each month. Atleast in my state, they can not charge a profit for this data. Create a good sales letter/flyer and mail away.

Browse around the web and once you find a cra**y web-site, contact the owner and offer your services. If you have a good portfolio to show and some client testimonials, you should do fine.

 

Advertise on local news paper to get local clients.
Advertise on craigslist.org to get foreign clients.

I found elance and rent a coder had the btter paying jobs scriptlance if you want to build a rep quickly but be prepared for alot of competetion.
