Don't believe that for a second. Any violation of international law that Russia perpetrates will be handled by more than just the U.S. If the U.N has any stones they will uphold the law and all nations will join against such a violation.

Attacking Georgia was a violation of international law if it was unprovoked.

America is not fanatism at the first place. Read Jefferson.
America is becoming a place of fanatism. And any fanatism is very dangerous.
I'm pro-america. It's a country I love. I think it's time to clean fanatism in there. If you see more churches than gas station where you live, fanatism is increasing...

I think she told her son to go so that her reputation increases.

I don't think so. Unless the NATO forces and Japan join hands with the U.S., it will not think of launching a war against Russia. Even if all of them joined hands and attacked Russia, it will still be a catastrophe, as Russia will not think twice before using its nuclear weapons. It's like 'if I'm going down, then I'm taking you all with me'. At the end of such a war, more than half of the planet can get destroyed.

Umm... Harold? You do know Russia holds veto power at the UN, right? Ends any possibility the UN can do squat to Russia even if the UN did have these mythical balls.

FYI, the statement from Mrs. Palin on the issue with Iraq has been taken out of context and is often misconstrued by the left. There is nothing extremist about wanting to see God's will done in whatever happens in the world, including Iraq. That is not to be misinterpreted that we are killing on behalf of God as you seem to be making it out to be.

I agree, PHP, that there is a difference between saying "I hope we're doing God's will" and "in God's name, we do this."

That said, the problem comes when, having arrived at a decision, the decision is given the patina of having been God's will because, well, God's will is done, ever and always, if God is omnipotent and omniscient.

Yes, easy enough to say, "but [I, you, he, she] wasn't acting as an instrument of God's will" - but far too often, such a mindset has justified far too many actions of Man against Man's best interests. Regarding Sarah Palin, and the mindset of the religious right in America, I'm not too sanguine such a mindset isn't the guiding mindset, as a matter of fact.

Oh no...far away that idea...And God's will has to be used by human, including Palin, without hidden mind.
For example, in the name of God and with God's help, the twin towers are gone...But hey, you're right, as Palin said, it's God's will...

You'd think god, being all powerful, Would be able to do his own "will". Strange how he entirely relies on humans to do it and even stranger how his "will" always seems to involve killing people. Of course, The alternative to god being impotent and bloodthirsty is that the people claiming to be doing god will are actually liars looking for nothing but justification.
