Paypal - Change account name.

In order to able withdraw money, I want to change my name in Paypal to match with my bank account name.
My paypal name is "Mike Price" (for example) but my bank account name is "Mike" only. I have upload the copy "driver license" and "Bank account book" (showing my name) last 2 days through secure support.

Why I need to change my name? because I have my 1st withdraw and denied.

>> Is it possible to change my paypal name with the above copy of identity?
>> If it is possible, how will paypal rename my account after submit above identity?

Reliable answers would be appreciated.

Open a support ticket for name change, they will ask some documents and will change your name from their side, Even I have changed my last name once.. It was easy but took a week

Call them and explain your problem.

 

Also Did you try to mailed them .. If you didnot get any reply then calll them. otherwise calling them is the best way .

 

I have done it and waiting 1 or 2 week to be replied.

you can click Profile on your paypal account,then choose Close Your Account,then chose the reason to close "Need to change name...",then follow the instruction.Hope this can help you resolve your problem

 

The name on the bank account DOES NOT need to match the name on the paypal account.

They say this just as a precaution. You can enter any name, and your withdrawals and direct debits will go through without any problems at all.

 

I believe it varies from country to country and depends on how strict your banking policy is. Here in Singapore and I understand from India, your name must match or else the transfer would be rejected. The banks here do not want someone just sending money to another account by mistake and they are quite strict about it.

I know in the US, the banking policy is quite lax and they just allow all transfer through as long as the account number is correct, I supposed that is true for the UK too.

 

Yea you're right Eddy, sorry I was just asuming this was UK/US.

 

I was rejected when I try to withdraw my paypal and I am sure this is because my name is difference between Paypal and my bank account's name.

Just waiting until this week for my email support and hope for the best.

 

did they give you the reason why they reject your withdrawal?
if no, then you might ask them why

 

Mike just upgrade to a business account and change your name. It's that simple

 

If I change to business account, I am worry about the payment fee is too high for me.

 

You can open a new personal account after upgrading to business. Then use the new account primarily

 

Yup,Paypal allows 2 accounts(1 personal & 1 premier/business) per person.
Also If you earn money by selling items online, you should use a Premier or business account..
Person account just for friends or parents
