Please take a look at my new Poker site. http://www.BankrollApro.com Give me some feedback on this, I need help on getting people to use our forums section. Thanks
The site looks nice, the colors, the theme, and the layout is excellent, the site looks very user friendly.
Site looks great, needs a bit of work on the left side though. Looks kinda messy. Other than that, hope it brings some success!
I going to shoot it straight to you as a online poker player myself. This doesn't look any different than the sites that are emailed to me in newsletters on a daily basis from all the poker sites I play on. If you want to retain a poker reader base, your going to need content that is useful to us right off the bat on the front page. Something that we might not know or fully understand. I would ditch the intro and throw the top 5 most read articles in the block in the middle somewhere, and move the Full Tilt advertisement menu links more towards the bottom on the left menu. You may even want to add something like a bad beat shout box (very small) where readers can easily put their most recent bad beats and have it posted on the front page, giving them a reason to come back and compare it with others. Maybe offer to incorporate something with hand history. There are a slew of tools out there that are recording history and giving us statistics. Maybe you can come up with an idea to incorporate this idea into your website, keep readers interested in coming back for a specific reason. Maybe offer to archive this information free of charge or something? The design looks good, but a design won't keep me coming back to a website. Your on the right track, you just need some booming content.
I like the information you have gave me, the only thing I'm not getting is the fact that it is not a site where you play poker. It's a site to find Pro Players to stake in online tournaments. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, so viewers could get an understanding of what my site does. I feel that when I go to these other poker sites, they clutter the site with way to much information. I would never read 60 articles on Pro Players, or hundreds of blogs about the history of poker! I want it to be as user friendly as possible. There are a few other staking sites besides mine. The ones that I have seen are basically just forums. I do like your idea to post rails and bad beats on the main page. I may take your advice and do that. Poker players love to hear about other peoples miss-fortunes!
