Heck , they paid $200 million for the domain name and can only show for a directory concept, why can't I model it?

I don't need to make 10USD million/yr, just 100kUSD/yr is more than enough.

Hmm, not sure I think it's worth it. $299 could be spent in a lot of other ways in my opinion, but I guess it depends on a lot of factors and niche is probably one the main one. Like how competitive the niche is

OK here is the deal with my question. We have a dynamite SEO campaign with a ton more quality backlinks then my top 3 competitors (who have link farms and link exchange for most) yet they still rank above me in the organic results. 2 of my other sites are in the Yahoo Directory and the are at #2 for top keyword organic results. So I am thinking if I add this sire that ranks at #7 to the Yahoo Directory and/or the business directory we should jump up a few spots....I hope.

And for those who say being in a directory is just a backlink are crazy. bullshitwebsites.com backlink cannot be compared to a business.com link.

 

Yahoo and Business dot com are Authority sites and the only thing they could do is help you in my opinion. Quality always will outperform quantity.

I don't think anyone could guarantee that you would move up those few spots, but I would sure be interested in knowing if it would.

In my opinion it would definitely be worth trying. If for no other reason than to find out the answer to your question.

I can see Yahoo as an authority site but for business.com? It is just the domain name , that it!!!

Anybody can hire a web designer to recreate businesss dot com site.

For the amount of millions$$$ spend on getting that domain name, they can just come up with a dirctory listing concept....I am disappointed.
I don't think they can recoup the money back.

 

Its not just a domain....do you know how much weight business.com carries. Not only are they a 7 page rank but their directory is crawled by google spiders straight away...and this plays a major role on where you fall organic wise. Same for Yahoo directory. So your regular directory link would be like a little league team trying to play ball with the big boys!

Congratulations! But I suggest you realize that your directory can not compete with Business.com in any way at all. You don't have the resources to do that. As sooner you realize that, the better it is for you.

I also suggest that you read the thread title again and stop marketing your useless directory since it has nothing to do with this thread.
