Someone Explain The Reputation System To Me?

Hi,

I'm a bit about the reputation system! How many points do I need to get more green blocks, and how does the forum work out how many blocks I get from each addition of reputation? Thanks!

I think in General chat section you need to have much more reputation to give someone a green point. Otherwise it's just a gray one that doesn't mean anything

 

I actually hardly ever visit the appraisal section, I stick to the main domain section. What can I say? I just like helping people...

EDIT: So do some forums give you more points per reputation added than others? If so, is there a list of these? Would be very interesting...

Yes the reputation you receive in General section will not be counted and will be treated as rep balance

How come my points have gone up from 21 to 33 with just 3 reps? I guess it's something to do with the difference of post count between the two reppers? i.e someone with 10 posts receiving rep from someone with 7000 posts will get a lot more rep points per rep than someone with 100 giving it to the same person, for example.
