Ok, let me vent why I CANT STAND YAHOO. 1) You can pay to be at the top of Yahoo... and I wouldnt pay them a DIME to be on top of their crappy search engine. The top 3 results are all paid results (sure they have the light blue in the background, but its so light you cant even notice its paid ads........... not to mention the 3 at the bottom) 2) I get absolutely NO TRAFFIC from this crappy search engine --- However I get good traffic from Google. 3) Google is #1 for a reason..... Yahoo's search engine just plain SUCKS! They deserve to be INFERIOR to Google !!!!!!!!!!!!
yahoo still lives only cause of their free email service. i´ve never seen anyone using anything else by yahoo. over here in europe.
I keep hearing they account for around 30% of web searches..... I just hope Google puts a stop to that soon!
Rightly said, yahoo has lost and all due to poor strategy management...they had the advantage of first mover but they could not make use of it.. Google on the other hand really has an excellent strategy...they don't let any one else take any competitive edge over them!!
Yahoo search has no that importance as that much google search has. Google delivers revelant searches and a guy who switches on computer and open his browser he definately first visit's google for his needs. "Google has won heart of the many people" I too without thinking open google for search. hope yahoo improves, by inventing something new....
I don't think so. Lot's of my sites are ranking in top 3 positions for lots of good keywords for Free.
I don't use Yahoo because I have no reason to use it when Google has a wide and open bar with plain design for searching. Yahoo should imitate Google's design, and they'll soon see users coming in.
I alss till find googles results to be much more relevent. If I type in a company name, for example, the company website always seems to pop up the top
I actually outrank the merchant of an offer I built an affiliate site around on Yahoo for a few important keywords. So I'm not complaining!
The people bashing Yahoo obviously don't know how to rank well there. They don't like Yahoo because they can't manage to get Yahoo traffic. I happen to get Yahoo traffic and I don't hate them. Just because Google can rank a company first for its name, it doesn't say anything about their search results. Results quality can be better measured with competitive search terms and obscure terms. As for Yahoo's top 3 results being paid, does Google not do the exact same thing? Geez this whole thread is filled with ignorant comments.
Google has always better results and people like Google because of that. I believe if Yahoo could improve its search engine, they will get back the old user.
I think Yahoo still best for the Link domain analysis. I get more accurate link domain info than using Google.
