Gas went from $4.00 USD/Gal. to $3.60 over the months of AUG and early SEPT. Today on my way in to work it was $4.06, and $4.19 across the street. First time I have ever seen almost a $.50 spike in 1 day. This has been due to the media from the threats of Hurricane Ike. The Governor in our state (Michigan), had to make a state wide announcement on the radio, that if gas owners raise their prices, it will be considered gouging and they will be prosecuted. What is the gas prices in your area right now?
the funny thing about gas is its at lowest price since april 08 it hit under 100$ per barrel in future markets.(Crude Oil, not gas price) it should be under 3 bucks easily.(gas prices per gallon) yahoo released a PR about how big investment firms used 60 billion dollars to purchase crude oil in jan 08 when it was at 95$ per barrel(for profits). til july 15th they sold 39 billion dollars worth when it peaked 145 a barrel. hence why its now at 100$ per a barrel, the TV NEWS and CNBC is trying to sell it to the public with these 2 hurricans that oil is going to go up and up, but oil has been going down each day and TV keeps saying "what about the hurricans and the oil? Gas Panic?" etc ...while the big investment firms keep unloading all of what they owned. btw its around 3.50 here in iowa
Yes, i always told people that it is best to use water instead of gas, its cheap and easy to get, but they dont listen.. oh well.. keep paying
Here on the west coast of Florida it is around $3.80 - $3.90. I don't drive much because I work from home... WOO HOO! The only time I really leave is to go to the store (got to eat) and visit my mom (eat her food).
What the hell. Driving home last night I am now seeing prices at $3.39-$3.49 per gallon for regular! It was $3.23 last night!
$3.95 per gallon. The prices jump for most any reason, even those that have zero affect on production or distribution. Gouging no doubt and not surprising that every quarter, oil companies report RECORD profits.
