Has anybody heard the new Metallica CD yet?

The new CD is entitled 'Death Magnetic' and is one of the best Metallica album's I have heard in a LONG TIME !

me likes...restores my interest in them after losing it on anger.

 

Certainly lost interest in them a few years ago w/ the whole Napster fiasco. Will check this out & see if they have anything good to listen to.

 

I kind of shut Metallica out when they released 'St. Anger' and that 'Some Kind Of Monster' movie, but now that this album is released I respect them more than any other band out. It sounds like they put everything they had into this album, it really shows. It doesn't really sound like the kick-ass old school Metallica album everybody was expecting, but more of a kick-ass modern day Metallica album which I think I like better.


Some of these songs are going to be real fun to learn on guitar, just like the earlier stuff XD !

I have not been a fan of Metallica for many, many, many (how old am I?), many years now. They lost me at Metallica (the black album) and I just out grew the angry heavy metal phase of my musical tastes I suppose. I have not heard this album, but I have heard good things about it, so I will have to give it a listen when I have some time and let you know if they have won me back or not.

 

YES! preach it, same here on the black album but I haven't grown out of the heavy metal phase, though it is no longer angry (for me)

 

I downloaded it last week. It's awesome.

 

I've heard most of it...and it's about as weak as everything they've released in the last 20 years or so.

I don't think I've gone more than three days w/o listening to Metallica since I was 12 years old.

Anyway, I like the album too, it's not the same as the old stuff but it's still great music. 4 out of 5 stars!

Anyway I have to agree, it's a poor album. I like a few Metalica songs, but wouldn't say they are that great. Saw them live a few years back (was a festival) and they were pretty poor.

My brother is obsessed with them and even says this new album is weak.

 

Critics and 99% of the fans LOVE this album.

 

Critics are 99% bullshit!

I saw them live in Prague in 2004 and they were pretty boring. But it's hard for any band to stay around that long and still please their original fans.

 

I love some of the new songs!

I can't really tell you - I've never listened to Metallica by choice.

I wonder what the music of choice is for Digital Pointers...80s?
