By the definition of 'niches' - no, you need to narrow further what your going to talk about. I'm in the similar boat, I want to make a webcomic and I'm trying to determine what about. If I pick a broad topic I will appeal to wider range of readers, but my site will be less targeting and therefore each visitor is less valuable to my advertisers. Does that make sense?
Agreed, think of something as detailed and specific as possible. Broad niche's have success in that it can incorporate large target market... but you then lose the genuine market that are loyal community members. I would suggest that you find your niche, and literally start by talking to people one-on-one and ask them what they would like to see within the niche/business you selected. Good luck!
In addition, if you have want to make your alternatives and options smaller, you also have the chance to capture a specific audience like PSP gamers inasmuch as it's also easy for you to invite advertisers who will give the needed revenue for you.
Of those I would go with gaming.. think of what you want do do with it though. Do you want to sell games? help gamers when something is broke? etc
Niches should be more specific. Try to micro target a specific aspect of a bigger niche. That's where the real money is earned. For example dating can be broken down into 40's+ dating, asian dating, gay dating, etc, etc, etc. But then you can break that down even further into like "40's+ asian dating in california." Now, there's a niche.
I would advise you to go for Download site such as TV series you can capture the traffic by having latest released series at your site at the first time.
I agree, this is a cost-effective method... and is an awesome tactic for anyone beginning their business. Let us know what you decide to do!!
Gaming need more update Download need to offer stuffs regulary I think website is easier to maintain but hard at the start period.
Well my gaming site is already a specific niche, its game glitching (game exploits). But my download site is pretty broad right now even though Google is doing a great job displaying specific ads per each page. And with my Website Creation Page I'm not sure what I'm going to do becasue its a pretty broad topic.
Yeah, but your TV Show site is a bit different, it has Webcast Stations, mine just has popular Network TV Shows. I'm not sure if there is a difference though, it's probably a bad niche.
I was always wondering about that. How far down do you need to go before you can call it a niche? I'm into the dating niche with my product. But I went from dating to teach about dating. The kind of How to date a women thingy. And it's a great niche!
interesting niche you got there you are right... there is no fine line as to what defines a niche. Everyone will have their own interpretations, I but I think a niche is something particular from something general. However, you don't want to be so specific that your target market is too small to be successful with.
None of those are niche's They are Main keywords you need to dig down to 4th level categorys for true niche e.g: > GAMING > Computer Games > Xbox > Xbox Fighting games (shoot em up whatever) > WEBSITE >Web Design > Wordpress designs > Cooking related wordpress designs (or wahetever) Specialise in one subject - thats how i see it
That's a good point. Consider the keywords you want to rank for when considering delving into a niche. A good niche will have keywords you can compete against out the gate and do well as to put your service into public view.
you could use those topics... just make a site more specific for each topics... for example gaming>PC/PS3/XBOX/>News/Videos/Forums
