    Hi there,

Can anyone give me really good advice on how to promote a webhosting website to bring in more customers and get its ranks and visits up.

    Thanks!

Is it a site about web hosting or a site selling webhosting?

Depending on the size of the business and how much you are pulling in on a monthly basis as of right now, I would consider Google AdWords or possibly contacting iNet Interactive, the Owners of WebHostingTalk.com and checking the advertising rates they an provide you with.

Advertising with iNet across WHT isn't going to be the cheapest route, however, it will get your ad in front of those that are searching for web hosting services and they have multiple ad spots available as well as "sticky threads."

That aside, if you're not quite at the point of only advertising due to budget, I would suggest doing it locally. Speak with small businesses and individuals that you know have existing websites and see what they are paying and offer them what you're able to. Make sure that they see the value, otherwise, they are more prone to simply dismiss your offer.

You can also reach out to current websites owners, friends, family and friends of friends. There's really and endless number of ways to really get the word out, however, it really depends on the services you offer.

If you're looking to compete on pricing, as a new company, you're probably fighting a losing battle as the "big names" in web hosting can easily drop their pricing, regardless of whether or not it kills their service.

You need to compete on a niche level. If you're looking to compete on pricing and such basic features, it's probably not going to do you too much good. You need to offer something that hasn't been offered before or currently is not being offered.

In saying that, I mean a higher level of service, a more personal level of service, true and real 24/7 support and so forth and so on.

Do you have any existing clients? If so, how many?

What kind of price range are you in?

Answer these, and I should be able to make a couple of suggestions which should help you. (I have been in the biz for 10+ years operating under the same company name)

PM. if you don't want this stuff posted.
