The logo name is "Lighting Equipment", please include this text into the logo. As the name suggests, the logo will be used on a site about lighting products. It's a B2B site, but I do not limit the logo style to the business type (personally I like web 2.0 or cartoon style). Just design the logo in the styles that you're good at. Overall I prefer the logo to look clean and fresh. BTW the site's background is white, please do not present the logo in other color background. Also please limit the logo height to maximum 100 px when you present it here. As some big size logos will look obscure when cut down to small size.

I'll pay the winner $50 via paypal. The contest will last for 3 days. The designs must be original and the full copyright will belong to us when the winner receive the payment.

Why would the example / mockup have to be 100px height, on the exact color bg you need (ONLY), & Able to be cut down to small size? Shouldn't the final files be in the spec sizes & the mocup be protected from any infringement attempts? Would it be ok to watermark the entries, or is that prohibited too?

It's ok to watermark the entries.

As for the logo height, if you prefer a bigger size for the convenience in design you can do that. But please make sure the final logo (with a 100px maximum height) has the same effects as the big size logo. I emphasize this because some logos looks great in big sizes, but when cut down to smaller sizes to fit the site, they looks ugly or lose their original effects.

    Thank you for the interest.

It's an industry portal for all lighting products. I've no idea as to what kind of elements could represent them. That's why I turn to designers like you here.:D

katesrobyn, I do not like it but I appreciate your participation. I can not tell exactly which part of the logo I don't like. I think I'm not interested in the overall design. Thank you.

tickey, as I mentioned above it's a B2B industry portal that includes all type of lighting products.

    ---

I just come up with some ideas:

How about a lighted house with a moon and stars high in the deep blue sky in the night?
How about a combination of some cartoon lamps, for example, a table lamp, light bulb, flashlight, neon lamp...?

The logo is not necessary to be figural (e.g. including a bulb or lamp in the logo), an abstract one with creative design is also a choice.

xaralee, I like it, count this a candidate. The problem with this one is that the height is bigger than width, this may be difficult to incorporate it into the site header. Will you adjust it to have width' size bigger than height? I can not tell the house is lit by a lamp. Is there a way to make people feel there's a lamp in the house? You may also try to add some outdoor lights. Anyway, the logo is themed around a lighting product. In addition, the text seems not perfectly integrated with the logo.

    Thank you very much.

    DrDesigner,

Thank you. But this logo looks too simple and the beacon is too commonplace and can be found in many logos .

Cool, andi. I like it, your typical style:D It took me some time to figure out the bulbman, is there a way to intensify this effect?

Could you make the logo rectangular (width bigger than height)? I've to mention again I do not want a vertical logo. The height and width should be controlled around 1:2 (such as 90 px height and 160 ~ 200 px width).

    Thank you
