Phone verification was needed for posting on US locations only. Where you trying to post?

    Changing IP would not help.

I'm also using Craigslist but I didn't verify my post in phone. I successfully posted my ads there.

Craigslist is trying to crack down on spammers. If they have your number its easier to track down illegal postings and shut down scams. I am pretty sure you must verify the number to so you can't get a voicemail number for free to do it with.

It depends on the section you post in. For sale is now PVA but other sections I believe other than services aren't affected.

If it's an official anti-spam measure by Craigs List, just give them the number. They will call you once, to confirm your account, and that's about it. I don't think there's anyway around it. Personally I think it's a great measure, scams on craig's list need to be controlled.

I don't use craigslist anymore to post anything when there are others free sites such as www.kijiji.com , www.backpage.com , www.oceanstateclassifieds.com

Sometimes change is good, even if we don't see it as such until farther down the road.
