Just launched my second AdSense site

I've tried to keep this one much more about the content with AdSense ads interwoven throughout. Just one affiliate ad on the home page and I'm going to try to not add too many and keep the site clean. I'm hoping this niche is a little more profitable than the first

I think they are great looking and organized . You stated that the first did not do much.

How long has it been up? Are the domain names aged?

Thanks for the compliments! Actually the first Cakes site has only been up for about 3 weeks and I just ended up in the sandbox so my traffic on Google died. My initial SERPs were really good but after my honeymoon period I'm no longer ranked. The CTR has actually been about 10% on adsense which I was very happy with but the earnings per click were pretty low. I'm hoping in another few months my Google traffic will come back as I keep working on content and backlinks. I do think it could do well over time but I think the second Pregnancy site has a little more potential just because it is more searched and advertisers are paying more per click.

well, you don't actually launch an AdSense site. You launch a blog and use AdSense in it (and in your case for the second time in a row) ...being precise :D

I am very impresssed. I think you should try to buy domains that have had a little traffic in the past so you don't fall in the sandbox. It might cost you a little more but it would put you on the map sooner after all that hard work.

    Hi Misty Girl,

Kids site is great. Google ads should be above fold (at least top half), per Google. Left is supposed to be better than right, per Google also. (Google heat map)

Best adsense sites (IMO) are what I call solution sites. Visitor has a true need or problem. Your site provides content and info, Ads provide solution. You need a reasonable to high earnings per click. You will need to balance niche marketing as well as cost per click. I used to think smoking, addiction, etc...in other words, a major need as best candidate for adsense, but was recently surprised by an automotive site (primarily tires) as being a good adsense site.

You usually have to dig deeper to find a worthy niche, since you have more to balance (cost per click, # of searches, # of competitors), but with a good cost per click and good content and marketing, an Adsense site can still be a goldmine.

BTW, lots of warmth on the kids site. Feels good as soon as you hit the page, so I think your visitor is more apt to stay a while.

I'm not sure about the pregnancy site...perhaps more WIIFM..what is in it for me. You definitely have the right idea when listing information that your website covers, but add to or incorporate some benefits...i.e. Find out why getting pregnant over 35 is not the end of the world, or as major a health risk, or can be wonderful...a bit of a shock? for attention grabbing. Add benefits to the others...Discover simple steps to help you prevent miscarriage (or similar...again, add or include benefit), same with tests and diabetes. Also can you add more content such as exercise, food, natural alternatives, attitude, group help, books??? To be blunt, your pregnancy site looks like an Adsense site and you can change that. If you could add warmth..wow..well..thnk about it, more content at least.

BTW, my intention is to help, I apologize if I have ofended you...I know how our websites can become special to us. Good Luck.

    Much Success,
    George Pierce

Hi MistyGirl, I think you are doing fine over these. When I had a glance through of your cakes and kids site, I actually notice that the ads almost overwhelmed the content and if I were you, I would try to tone down a little bit. Anyway, the design part looks ok and so does overall site navigation. Don't worry about the sandbox mode, as it would be over pretty soon.

I'm not offended and appreciate all your insight. I will be working to add more resources etc to the pregnancy site and I think I'll add some baby photos to warm it up a bit. Thanks again!

Thats nice that you have created one more site . Always remember if you want to earn money from adsense than whenever you create new posts make keyword search in google adwords tool on related to post and use some good keywords in your post . By this you will get help to recieve relevant ads on your articles .

The page looks ok but I feel a little overwhelmed by ads. I suggest adding text next to the square ad you have in the middle of the page (like this page) and add some more text to the main page so that it doesn't feel like it's mfa.

The other pages look really nice with all their content next to the ads. Some of it does run into other content (or ads) on those pages though so you just have some clean up to do there. Good luck with this site and let us know how it turns out for you.
