The next big internet idea?

What idea do you guys think will be the next big thing on the internet? Whats the next facebook, digg, or google?

Just want to hear what you guys think.

 

I would think that a majority of the people on DP would like to create and utilize the next big thing and make ourselves billions of dollars.

Didn't the Google and Yahoo guys clean up with billions? That is what is at stake if you want to do the next big thing.

That kid that did the million dollar page and did a million in sales. That would be acceptable to many of us here. Of course, that idea isn't usable unless you tweak it. Those that have tried so far didn't do that good.

So how does one create the next big/acceptable thing? Go with your talent or knowledge. I didn't know that there were a million pixels on a webpage like that kid did. I probably would have never come up with his idea, because I didn't have the thread to be able to weave the cloth of that successful idea.

Of course, I have knowledge he doesn't. I concentrate on creating the next big thing in my talent.

 

If someone knew that, do you think he/she would share it for free, with us ?

 

No way, we'd see it on the net and be talking about it in DP and someone would say, Hey, I came up with that million dollar idea! And, now I'm RICH!

 

Implanted chips that offer wireless internet directly to you brain...Okay I got nothing.

 

I am clearly the next big thing on the Internet!

 

This is easy, the next big internet thing is that you should all work for me and give me a cut of your profits! In exchange I will promote your site on all other employees sites and you'll get millions more hits than you used to! This way everyone gets rich! See how simple that is?

 

Well with the way the internet is going any new dominant site would have to be very interactive. People are no longer excited by static websites. They want to be able to give their input and have that input count towards something. People want to be able to personalize a website so that it appeals directly to them.

A lot of the best ideas are just improvements on other ideas. Google was an improvement over other search engines. Facebook was an improvement over MySpace. So a good strategy might be to examine your favorite websites and think about how they could be much better.
