One of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen on a forum is members allowed to give negative marks on others profiles, because they disagree with their political views.

I have seen it happen more than once, and now I got some little kid (Actually a 50 year old man named Rob Jones) red repping me all over the place and leaving me threatening emails, and comments on my blog.
The latter I can deal with, but what is the use of having a politics section with differing opinions if members who disagree with you can repeatedly red rep you.

It is a direct contradiction of what that section is supposedly for.

There is nothing more arrogant than one, or two forum members just deciding that they are right and everyone else is wrong, and leaving a permanent mark against those they disagree with.

Members like this should not be allowed to slap the mods of this forum in the face and decide that they will rule and decide who is credible around here based on their opinions.

If those members truly feel that they have the right to execute unrelated actions just because of their frustrations, the should open their own forum where they can rule with absolute power.

This forum claims to respect everyone, but that is ruined when some are allowed to act like this, and rep everyone who disagrees with them.

I was under the impression that only the mods were the law and order her, and anyone who thought otherwise would be dealt with.
Apparently that is not the case.

I guess Rob Jones decides who is allowed to participate and have an opinion over in the political section. I did not see his name as one of the mods.

As for the child like emails....they are comical. I will deal with them when I have time to play with the kids.

I do not see anything ridiculous in that. Rob Jones has as much right to his opinion and usage of his rep power as anyone in the forum. He chose to use it, thats all. The forum respects the right to be different and Rob Jones chose to differ from your opinions and expressing it through the use of reps.

So reps ARE for opinions ? I assumed they a were a tool for unscrupulous business transaction, scammers, and to rate peoples business ethics here on the forum..

So it actually is forum policy to rep someone that you disagree with ?

    iTrader - for business transactions

Rep - for whatever they want to leave rep for (no one sees the rep comments but you)

If you don't like negative rep in the P&R area, stay out of the P&R area. Members are certainly allowed to negative rep you if they think you're offering bad info / advice / etc because they disagree with you, just as you can for them. Rep is also an unmoderated area.
