i like comics , even made a website uploading all image files of a Comic http://nagaraj.co.nr/ (it is in hindi)
It's been a while, but I used to collect them. I still have tons. I used to really collect Marvel and DC comics, as well as the Archie series.
I never really got into them as a kid. Since none of my friends did either, I guess it just didn't happen for me.
Few months back only when holidays were going on, dont remember particularly. But its fun reading comics. Cartoons are biggest stress relievers.
The last time was around more than 10 years ago. At that time I used to read comics randomly during my holidays. Now I haven't even seen a comic book for years.
I am a huge comic book fan. I go to the comic book store weekly to pick up my latest issues and have even started getting my kids into them. I mostly read indie comics and non-super hero books like Bone, American Virgin, Hellblazer, Fables, and RASL. I do grab the occassional Batman and Ultimate Spiderman, but most super hero books aren't on my list of things to read. My son however is a big super hero fan so he gets Avengers, Spiderman, Superman, X-Men and the like.
When I was a kid I would go to comic book conventions, I was really into collecting comics , I would collect hundreds of issues of the Spawn and Grifter comic book sagas, issued by the Image comic company. There was a particular three-part series I liked in the Spawn saga, where 'Angela' an angel warrior hunting after demons , begins her hunt against, the Spawn, Al Simmons. She later find he's not a mindless product of hell like the many creatures he's encounter , for example the Violator. She finds that he is seeking redemption and she falls in love with him. During its inception, the spawn comic series received a bunch of hate mail, due in part to its religious overtones, which Todd would not only answer, but have published on the back of each issue. As a kid I would skip to the back of each book to read each one. In the mid 90's I liked pretty much everything by Todd Mcfarlane , and all the early spawn action figures. Another company I liked was "Dark Horse" and their lady death Chromium card series and of course the Lady Death comic book series. At the conventions I would always pickup a monthly Wizard magazine to check on the prices of each of the comics I owned; it still is the definitive source for comic book collectors and aficionados. Aside from kid comics, at 14 I was collecting adult Heavy Metal magazines. Which introduced me to so many artist, an array of very talented international artists who I would otherwise have missed , like Olivia De-Berardinis and her famous art book, 'Let Them Eat Cheesecake'. Without such experiences I would never have had the opportunity to see how each artist expressed the human body, and if there were such colleges that taught these different forms of art and rendering. In conclusion, my comic book collecting history was a very enjoyable, educational, and fulfilling experience which lasted through all my years of development.
