Why does my joomla load so slowly?

Hi there DP,

I was wondering if anyone could take a second to look at my new yoga website, it is is the very early stages of design. My concern is how long it takes to load. Is this because it is a joomla? The massive background image? Something wrong in my set-up? Bad hosting? (Bluehost)

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's because I have a high speed internet connection, but your site did not
load slowly for me.

 

anything iwth large images or a lot of images will load slow.. Also some Joomla templates are heavy and load slow...

 

maybe try on another hosting server, the host could be overloaded.

 

Try this free tool online, Website Optimization .com. You can key in your URL and they will analyze your site through their recommended benchmark. Hope this is useful. On a side note, my site is a Joomla-powered site, wasn't able to pass their screening.

 

It didn't take long to load for me either. But make sure that you have caching setup in your Joomla admin. I had the same issue and it helps some.

 

it takes only a short time to load but not that fast. i like the background..

 

i think its your server coz it didn't take long to load your site.

Hey there, I've had this problem before. You should test your website using this tool here: websiteoptimization.com. You should then optimise your images (you can find free applications on download.com) trust me this makes a big difference. Good luck

 

Try wordpress. Use less pictures and use simpler layouts.
