I posted a while back a topic discussing ClickBank and Craigslist and how successful the 2 work together if you make it work together. So my question now is, what are some tips and strategies I can use? What should I stay away from? What will improve my chances of actually being able to keep my ad on there without being flagged? I would greatly appreciate some help as I've been having a pain in the ass time right now with being able to keep my ad's on Craigslist!!!! Thanks...
I think if you just follow their Terms of Use, you'll be fine! Check out this link in their FAQ Section: http://www.craigslist.org/about/help/flags_and_community_moderation Three biggest reasong for being flagged: Best thing to do when advertising on any site is make sure you follow the Terms of Service/Use and you should be fine! Most people get flagged because they don't read the do's and don'ts - they just post and ad and cry when it gets deleted.
^^ Problem is, I'm not violating nothing. I think its just someone getting "click happy" with the Prohibited or something link (damn people trying to eliminate the competition.)
That is quite possible. I've never used CraigsList so I don't know how easy it is to complain about a posting but I don't imagine there are any checks and balances in place. Just like when running an Adwords campaign and your competition gets all of their friends and co-workers to click the hell out of your ads to cost you money. Have you tried emailing craigslist to see if they can provide you any feedback?
I haven't CL marketed in a long time, but I used to just say e-mail me for info and have an auto responder set up. If you don't drop links people don't think its spam.
Wowhaxor makes a great point! I guess it comes down to the definition of "spam" according to Craigslist. If you post an ad with a paragraph or two and a note at the bottom "For more information, email ___", is that enough of a difference from the same paragraph or two with a few affiliate or site links in it? Or do people just go to Craigslist looking for used tangible products or legitimate services (ie: house painting, computer repair, etc) and anything other than that is "spam"? Seems to be quite a few people successful with CL. I wonder how they get past it.
^^ I've actually already tried the email scenario as well and it was flagged. Anybody have any actual tips to help bypass getting marked as SPAM?
could be a lot of work, but you could actually respond to their emails as a human. I know the whole goal of aff marketing is passive income, but I mean come on, a quick email for a sale is pretty damn good in my book.
It could be any number of things. If you post to many times in the same city. If you post to many times If your headline is the same as another ad of yours. Even if your images are the same size from one posting to another. I have a guy that needs 25 different sizes of on ad I designed for him that way CL doesn't think the same image is being spamed onto the system. This guy is posting everywhere an doesn't get flagged at all. A good poster is a good investment. You headline: stay away from certain keywords in the headline. I don't know what they are but I am going to research that. Combining Clickbank and CL is a great free income producer if done correctly. They don't make it easy but it is worth it. If you want to see how some other DP members are using CL check out my site in my signature. I have a special DP offer running right now on this thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=999118
