If I'm right can't you run a phrase match and exact match under the same ad group? For example "auto parts" 25 cents, [auto parts] 50 cents? Last time I tried this it wouldn't allow me to do it? Did they change something?
No you can't run the same keyword in different matchings in one adgroup. It will always trigger your exact match first.
Michael with respect, if you insist on replying, at least answer correctly. Of course you can have the same keyword with all 3 match types in the same adgroup. Would I recommend it? No. I'd have each Campaign having it's own Match Type. That depends what is searched for. If you have: AdGroup A blue widgets "blue widgets" [blue widgets] and somebody searches for blue widgets then yes, your exact match will be triggered. If bright blue widgets was searched for then your phrase match will be triggered. Finally, if blue hairy widgets was searched for, the broad will be triggered.
I regularly use all three match types in the one ad group for the exact reason Muchacho mentioned - ideally you want to capture exact match because it's usually cheaper too, and the other two matches can catch the rest. Also, keeping it in the same ad group allows you to target your ads specifically to those keywords.
the most correct way is to use all three broad, exact and phrase simentaneously which always result better ctr and high clicks rate.
"auto parts 25 cents", [auto parts 25 cents], auto parts 25 cents . this will accept. mathching must be there. try this one
just don't combine match types in the same adgroup. Its a best practice and keeps your account nice and clean. Also it has many optimization advantages to keep them separate
