Educate yourself well about the basics, rules and the pitfalls. Don't put all the money you have into it initially. Test the waters first with small investments and proceed slowly.

I prefer to learn equity first (stock market) before trade forex, forex was a cruel world, never sleep and has 5-10% life expectancy (see previous post), learn from slow market first on equities before taste the forex, after you taste the forex, who want to back to equity? (someone said that, I forget where). Equity in term of CFD was available in half of forex broker right now, with same minimal deposit, deposit methods (such as paypal) and also same leverage, there were forex broker who provide more than 800 equities instrument
