Ok... who here is the BOSS of SEO on the DP forum? Who claims to be the #1 know-it-all for SEO here? I think we should come up with an SEO challenge.... that will be very educational to all of us. Here's what Im thinking: Lets see who can rank #1 on Google for the phrase: Fsog Boodle This is a made-up phrase that doesnt come up in the SERP's. I know it sounds corny... but if enough people (10-20) people join the challenge.... we can see who wins..... And when that person wins, we can see why they are #1 (i.e. Title Tags, Backlinks, etc.) Also -- we should put a time limit on, and possibly other restrictions This can help prepare you to make some mega-bucks.. Say a new phrase comes out, like "Anthrax", "Sars", "Bird Flu" and "Hurricane Fred" came out....... When these phrases came out... people jumped on Google.... and whoever was clever enough to quickly make a site about it and rank high, cashed in big time Let me know what you guys think --- and how we can plan this!!!! What do you guys think?
I highly doubt there is any prize in here as the OP mentioned nothing about. Also, from his threads it seems he's a seo newbie and maybe this was his way of trying to learn some things.

sounds like a fun idea, however this is a comercial forum and not many people will do much on here for fun. this forum is for making money, not that theres anything wrong with that.
Anyone could easily rank for that phrase within a few hours - but what would be the point? Why not choose a phrase that's actually competitive like 'fat loss 4 idiots' or something, people could make a bit of money that way too
If the prize was high enough I would do this, I prefer ranking on the top of SERP's for "online money making" though
you must set high prize for it. then most people will join. people not doing this only for fun.. lol..
I think your idea is a failure. No personal feelings. Unless there's an attractive price, most won't join.
I think you should first have a preliminary contest... say a raffle. This is where you would generate the cash for the 1st (maybe 2nd place) prize(s). Have beginner webmasters and SEO students submit an existing site for consideration with a already popular nich keyword. Say, iphone... then, when you have dozens of entrants, pick a few and have the SEO experts each work on one of the sites. Since they won't all be the exact same, the rankings for the winners should be who shows the greatest improvement on the given SERP, PR, Alexa and even Adsense earnings. Perhaps you can even get the webmasters to agree to donate 50% of the earnings to the winning SEO experts. I think the idea has potential! I would follow it religiously! (Hint... a lot of traffic!) I think it even warrants it's own website for this competition.
