Do you think it is good that your web is the number one on search engine?

Why we use seo with our web? I think all of us want our web is the number one on the search engines.But is it good?
Yes, it could have high traffic,and you can earn more money .
But did you think is it have any disadvantage?
1. There will be more people copying your content.
2. There will be competitors trying to use various methods trap you.
3. Will attract the attention of search engines, will be artificially blocked your site.
4. Some people will be on your optimization technology, and then imitate you, kill you.
So we could not cling to the number,we'd better abundance our content,only we do that,though we have no good number on search engine,we also could earn more money online.

 

Lol... no. It's not a bad thing at all to be ranked #1 on a search engine. Being ranked #1 you probably have age on the other sites, unique content, etc. Competitors will mimic, and do other tactics, but you need to continue working to keep that first rank.

There will always be copiers... you just need to be at constant battle with them.

 

Definitely it works in getting 1000s of visitors on your site... take it that there isn't any side effects of it.... just do it. I have experienced the same thing for my niche... i was the first one to introduce my marketing strategy and i always get on top in a few hour time but its very difficult to do that now....anyway things are never remain same

 

People who focus on SEO always dream of being the top site in search engines. There are too many positives that outweigh the negatives. If you are ranked#1, it means you have to work harder in updating your content and staying on top of your competition so they don't over take your spot.

 

One thing you have to remember is that there will always be competition in any business type. It's good to be at the top, but I usually click on number 2 to 3 rankings . Just being on the first page is all that should be important. No 1 is not always the aim.

 

Absolutely agree. For all the people who try and shoot you/your site down, it is a wonderful feeling being at the top of an engine when people search for your site.

Far more satisfying looking down as opposed to having to look up at competitors above you in the listings.

i don't think it's a bad thing being ranked as #1 on search engines. regardless of the negative effects that you listed, still, most websites, and i mean almost all websites, want to be on the #1 spot. simply because, the higher your rank is on search engines, the higher your website value is. why else would people spend lots of money on SEO?

 

No No No.. no negative effects.. if you're #1, people are FOLLOWING YOU.. You LEAD . I've suffered from one negative but I smiled at it .. when I typed once my company name - econtentaxis - The second result was on "requirement of clone of econtentaxis.com" by some of my competitors... I used to think my design was just okay but it changed my thoughts... lol

are you having another recourse then Google for better traffic to avoid this threats.

Exactly - though maybe not Viagra - but if you are selling a product and you're ranked number 1, you will get a huge boost in sales

You can then use some of this cash to try make sure you stay at the top!

I have been enjoying first place rankings in Google and yahoo for certain keywords and phrases. It's what we all strive for, the coveted first place search result. That's a good feeling, it means you are doing an excellent job. People don't often look past the first page or 2 so getting the best ranking possible is what you want.

When your competition moves in on you you get to make another move. It's kind of like playing chess or poker and I like strategy games.

 

well, being #1 in ORGANIC search is a very good thing. It costs you nothing (except your time), but brings you traffic and more sales. If you are afraid that your competitors will copy you, then you should be afraid to sell and advertise your site as there is no guarantee that one of your clients might get interested in starting same business. LOL, but relax and...think one step ahead of your competitors, then they won't be able to kick you out

 

Because they are lazy, stupid to do anything else, and or, they don't want to spend the money for methods that work?

Eh, I can take it or leave it. It's not that big of a deal for many webmasters.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. For example on the times when it isn't: If you are selling a product, like Holiday gifts, many, many shoppers like to shop around first. It's not a good thing if they click on your site first, because many of them don't come back due to attention deficit disorder, and quite often they buy from the last site visited.

So being #1 isn't always a big deal.

Besides, being #1 is more of an ego thing for webmasters who have been lucky enough to land that high.

I agree. But for me, personally, I don't care about any of those things, because just about all webmasters don't advertise. Like the ones here. They are too stupid and or too lazy. I'd knock 'em out of the water with advertising.

And if they copied me to the letter, I'd contact their hosting company and have them shut down. So....
