OK I'm still learning GIMP, but I need help on two things. One I need to crop a picture (I know how to crop), but how would I add something behind it? Also I want to cut this face of an animal, and add it to another picture, how do I do that?

Heard loud and clear, do have the patience to wait for others to reply. Try not to bump your thread, you may get an infraction for that.

I haven't used it in a couple months cause I'm coding now and I tend to forget things.
You just create another window and copy the image into one layer there. Then do the same with your other image but make sure it's on another layer so you can slide it front/back of the other.

That doesn't sound very helpful to me but I'm not on my computer that has Gimp.
