i dont know alot about advertising and seo, so when im on my computer.. i constantly submit my blogs url to free directories...

does it help alot to submit them to free directories? is it worth time?

 

Yes, it will help to get backlinks. How effective submitting to directories is, I don't know. I still do it as I get backlinks from them and there free and take like 30 seconds max to submit to.

 

i submitted over 20 today...

i just am trying to get some traffic... didnt know how well they work..

Backlinks help get you a better position in the Search Engines.

Don't expect much traffic from directories though.

In combination with other seo efforts it will help. However not all backlinks are created equal and free directories are IMO considered weaker backlinks by search engines.

Submit to directories will not bring your good traffic.

 

A backlink is a backlink and every one is worth getting whether it is PR5-6-7 or PR0. Each and every one will count towards your search engine ranking in at least one of the search engines, whether it be Google, MSN, Yahoo or one of the smaller engines.

As others have pointed out, very few general directories will deliver traffic. If you are only interested in traffic then I would suggest looking for some niche directories and paying to submit to them.

 

i have another question..

when i get emails for pending and approved of my site, do i keep them?

do i delete pending ones?

should i keep the approved emails in my inbox?

 

It helps to keep track of which directories you submitted to. Once your submission is approved, you need to delete the email for pending status and keep the email for approval status. This is my practice, anyway.

Whether you keep the record in your inbox or download the emails to your PC is a personal preference.

Though I haven't used the Netconcepts' plugin before, it looks as if SEO Title Tag 2.3.0 WordPress plugin might help in some way to get your web page titles better optimized for search engines. The extent is what I really don't know. But since you've installed it, you have to test it and check if it uplifts your Blog's search engine ranking after one month of installation. That's the best way to find out.

 

or should i have it removed and install a diff one?

 

The choice is totally yours. It depends on how your title tags looked after installing the plugin.
