    Hello,

I been working my ass off building links for a new site i am working on, now i just ran a Webmaster tool that tells your: age of domain(7 days), PR, alexa ranks, yahoo links and so on...

Anyway i got a little worried when i saw the PR part say "FORGED" what the hell does that mean, ive spent most of this week building legit links..

This tool was a custom script tho so maybe it didn't know what to say to me lol

Seems strange tho, anyway is it possible to build links to fast ?? should i stop now ?? I intend on selling this site in a month or so time anyway, but with so many backlinks one would think its sale price should be better.

Thanks for any advice on this subject

    EDIT:

Also while i got your attention and to save making a new thread, whats best 1 anchor or several ?

2000 links in one week is toooooooooooo much.

And it is better to use different anchor texts.

I don't see anything wrong with 300-500 per week if they're links you're creating on your own. If somehow you got 2000 links in a week with no link building on your part, then congrats...you're going to have a very successful site.

Build 500 links a week, using half a dozen different keywords / phrases and you'll do fine.

you might have an earth breaking site which can generate thousands of links per month. nothing wrong with it. only thing you need to keep in mind tho, google likes to see gradual increase in backlinks. it needs to look natural as well. so if you build 2000 links on your first month, it is only natural that you will have more than 2000 links on the 2nd month. if you can keep up with that volume, there is nothing wrong with it. if you build too much links in the first month and not much or nothing later, thats when your site goes into sandbox

If you do it every week like that than its good but if you got 2000 links the first week than stopped it might look suspicious

Yes 2000 links is too much all at once, unless you can keep it up. It is especially bad if all 2000 of those links used the same anchor text. You want to make the linking look as natural as possible. It is highly unlikely that 2000 natural links would all use the same anchor text.

As for your PR question, you wouldn't have PR for a brand new website. Google only updates PR every 3 or 4 months. It may be easier to sell you website once you do get PR. People may be suspicious of a website without PR, as they may be worried that it is banned by Google.

I checked your backlinks on yahoo. No offense, but it looks pretty spammy. How many links did you get from yourlinkfree.com? Such spammy links won't help much.

How well is your site ranking? If you got that many backlinks that fast, you should have seen a good boost in your Google ranking. Also, how exactly did you get that many backlinks that fast? After about a month I don't even have 500 for the site I'm working hard on.

    Thanks all for your advice..

I have a popular link exchange site, A-B-C linking and used some other methods and also paid for some higher PR sites to place a hardlink for me.

I also used 3 or 4 anchors, so hopefully i wont be penalised and i can only assume for the time being that the links will continue to build as my site is offering a few services.

    Thanks again

    EDIT:
The alexa rank is non existent as the domain was only registered 2 weeks ago and the site build process only started a week ago

Agreed. Link building should appear as organic as possible. Different anchors, avoid patterns and the more relevant the better. Quality rather than quantity in my view.

To answer your 2nd question, I know of no rule in Google TOS that says you are not allowed to add 2000 links to your site the first week. Could that raise a flag? Perhaps, but that is only speculation so anyone who says they know exactly how many links you can add safely and in what week or month of your sites existence is full of it. There is a lot of incorrect information spread on this forum and don't believe everything you read until you've tested and observed under controlled circumstance for yourself.

As some other people mentioned you have to make sure you spread out when you get your links. You can't get 2k links then not get anymore, Google will know something is up. If you get 2k then maybe a few hundred every week it won't look as suspicious.
