What's up with cod? Apart from non-sustainability (not).

Its a dirty fish, well compared to haddock. Us fishy people know that haddock is better than cod, and I always laugh when I go into a chippy around town and you get some out of town folk ask for cod and chips.

Mmm, hadn't really considered it dirty but as you're from Grimsby I'll take your word for it. I still like a nice big flakey cod fillet. Haddock is cheaper than cod now... up here anyway.

hi, from (and living in) manchester.

My girlfriend is from Grimsby and I go there once a year or so, christmas normally... it always makes me laugh about the Haddock thing... I like to mention Cod to my gf's mum and see her reaction! she HATES Cod! ha ha... i always take the piss to my girlfriend about her mums reaction to the C word.... i can't understand it as they both taste the same to me.

whats the fuck is up with a bit of cod? get over it! heh heh...

Down here chips alone are £1.10 and then a nice piece of fish is £2.30

So a fish and chips in the southwest comes close to £3.40
