if you have a premier or business account, you can't stop the fees, if you have a personal accounts, the only way to avoid fees is to get it from paypal funds, credit/debit cards will make you pay a bigger fee

like eddy said, paypal isn't a charity :)

Remember that you cannot use a personal account to receive money from sales of products or services. You can however receive money from friends and relatives which do not amount to making profits through a personal account.

If the 50 to 60cents cause you to be making a loss then just raise your prices to cover your cost and paypal fees so that you be making a profit.

Personal account would be best, credit/debit cards won't be allowed.

Yes, but personal account cannot be used for receiving money from sales of goods and services. It can only be used to receive money from your friends and family which does not allow to making money and for you to sell a few of your unwanted items lying in your home on ebay. Basically the personal account is a spending account and thus what does not involved a sale, paypal would not be able to earn from you since you are not making money there.

If you abuse the system and use the personal account to receive money from sales, you will not only restrict yourself to people who have paypal balances from the 40 out of the 190 countries, you will be putting your account and reputation at risk from being limited or red flagged by Paypal.

Paypal does not offer Personal, Premier/Business accounts so as to allow you to decide on whether you want to pay them fees or not. They are there to reflect the different types of users. Personal for individuals who want to spend on Paypal, Premier for individuals who wants to sell through paypal and Business for registered business/incorporated company who wants to sell through Paypal.

It's 2.9% of the transaction plus 30 cents. So if someone owes you $100, they would have to send $103.20 for you to net $100.

    It's very expensive.

If you think the $3.20 is too expensive to pay to get you your $100 (if you do not think that you benefit from Paypal's services) then either raise the prices or use something else which would allow you to get a profit level higher than the fees you are paying paypal.

The PayPal fee can become quite expensive especially when all the transactions begin to add up... But PayPal is still one of the easiest ways people can pay for products/services online and most people who pay for things online prefer to use it.

If you don't like the fee's - don't use 'em!

Why not try 2CheckOut? Then you'll see what real fee's are!

Paypal fees are certainly not expensive. They are in fact very very low.

Those companies who offer processing for higher risk products/services (adult/gambling/pills etc.) charge as much as 15% +
