How much time do you spend on your online business?

I have been a lurker on the DP forums for couple months now. Over that time I have seen many people brag about making anywhere from $1 to $100/day with various CPC, CPM, CPA and many other ad programs.
My question to you is how much time do you spend per month on average in order to generate that income?
I myself made a calculation for last month and it seemed to me that I would be making a little bit more per hour if I simply worked at Wal-Mart in US.
The positive however is that online income is a geographically independent source of income that pretty much requires an internet connection and a laptop and then writing.
So I spend around 80-100 hours/month on my blogging activities.
How much time do you spend?

 

well, it helps to have a passion for it, i know many people that wake up and go to sleep, last thing they see is a computer, im one of them, including weekends.

but it helps your motivation once you see something getting going and working, helps drive you a bit more

 

I work around 15 hours a day. I run multiple businesses and have a full staff so it takes a lot of time to manage all of the companies effectively. You have to work hard to get the results. Many internet marketers complain about not making the major money they see large internet marketers making but don't want to put in the serious hours of work to get it.

Thank you for your input. I totally agree that if you are truly passionate about your online business then you actually spend every waking hour of your day thinking about it. It took John Chow several years before he made his blog the earning powerhouse that it is today.

More input will be much appreciated. I would love to hear from other internet entrepreneurs from DP...

 

When I started out I was working on my sites part time after hours. I would spend about 20-30 hours a week for 2-3 years before I earned a cent.

Now I work for myself from home managing my sites. Usually put in about 2 hours a day of real work. Sometimes more sometimes less. My sites can pretty much run themselves for weeks at a time if I wanted to take a trip. But usually I hire a family member to help look after things in my absense.

So at a bare minimum I would estimate 10 hours a week. Which equates to 40 hours a month. That puts my hourly rate in a range I could never obtain working for the man. ;-)

I spend from 2-8 hours a day. I am a student and need to do my homework too

 

I work about 6 hors per day on the business and spend about 4 hours per day in various forums.

Some of the forums are for education, some are for research and some are just for fun!

I make about $3000 per month currently and am looking to increase on that.

The great thing about doing online business is you can work when you want. There are days I've worked 16 hours for 3-4 days in a row, but the opposite is also true. There are quite a few times where I just decide to take a week off and not mess with it all. The more you work the more earning potential you have so I love working, but sometimes taking a vacation is nice as well.

Well, i think it depends on the type of your online business and the passion you have for your business. I am a small business owner and nevr restrict myself to working hours, just keep on working according to the work flow.

i spend 6-9 hours a day on internet but for earning purpose.. just started.. hardly an hour a day

 

I've just started too (about 6 months ago), and i'm putting about 5-6 hours a night in, and about an hour extra here and there too ^^

 

I spend at least 6 - 8 hours developing my blogs or sites, the rest goes into doing other things.

 

I am spend here [DP] 10-12 hr. I am working only for DP members.
