FOrums and blogs are useful whether they are do follow or not. In either case you will be increasing the profile of your website. Of course do folllow has the added advantage of link backs. BE patient and put in some work on a daily basis and you will get there. I have been working on my website for almost a year and a half and only now have i managed to get 800 hits a month which is still nothing. But the numbers are rising slowly. If you dont already have a blog on your website add one now and keep adding quality, origional content, and particpate in forums and blogs.
If a link ends up with 2 or more points its dofollow. Otherwise, its nofollow. So if you submit stuff people at Reddit like, you'll get huge traffic & even pagerank. If you submit stuff they don't like, you'll end up with a bunch of nofollow links and a bad reputation.
