Anyone notice changes in their rankings? In the past week I have had

    5 sites de-indexed
1 site that was stable for almost 1.5 years lose organic traffic from google by about 85%. (I haven't changed anything on the site)

    Any ideas?

Check the sites you are linking from. Maybe bad link neighbourhoods
    Also are you buying links?

Selling / Buying backlinks could be the reason. Or duplicate content.

I think google is starting to penalize buying links, that could be way alot of sites are getting de indexed and losing orangic traffic

I did not buy any links for the 5 sites that got de-indexed.

The site that lost rankings I have not touched in a long time so no idea why that dropped.

For the de-indexed sites for 3 of them I was building links via forums. One site I bought article submissions and the last one I have never even touched. They all run the BANS script but a custom template with some content on each site. Another thing to note is that they were all hosted in the same account.

Still not sure what went wrong.

It may be possible that the IP on which your sites were hosted got blacklisted. This happens sometimes when other users on the same IP (host) does some bad things like spamming and all.

Same here, one day my site is top 40 then it drops out of sight and comes back.

Yahoo started re-indexing last week and since then it seems in Google sites are going haywire, maybe the yahoo cache (which housed truckloads of old cached pages with links) is getting cleaned out and pages 'locked' by links on cached pages are now cleared from both yahoo and google, causing sudden drops ?

But that is just a wild guess.

I don't think my IP got banned because it is on a dedicated server so it can't be anyone else. I still have 1-2 sites on that server. 1 is ranking very well for pretty competitive words. I just don't understand why the other sites were hurt by google so badly.
