What these "prophets" do is spout tons and tons of vague nonsense, Then rely on their credulous followers to interpret it, After the fact, To fit a prophecy.

Nostradamus is a good example of how "prophesising" works. None of his predictions can be seen before the fact, They have to be revealed after the fact, with huge amounts of contrived interpretation, By people whose goal is to find predictions.

It's also due to the vast amount of stuff he wrote down. People seem to have this impression that the predictions that we know about are all he wrote, he actually wrote tons of stuff, but because we only get to hear about the ones which are able to be interpreted in a way that seem to predict an event it appears that he had a high success rate.

This reminds me of Borges' "The Library of Babel", a wonderful story of a huge library that contains every possible combination of letters in the form of books, so that the best imaginable literature, perfectly accurate history and even future biographies are contained there. Plus, of course, a huge amount of nonsensical gibberish.

Things and events can actually be predicted. But usually it's logic and understanding of the situation at hand and the various factors involved.

Though sometimes, many people's random hunches and predictions do come true [Accident? Happenstance? Coincidence? something else?]. Doesn't make them prophets though.

Then there are self-fulfilling prophecies. But they are very different from "normal" prophecies.

This lady was amazing. I happened to talk to people who have actually visited her when she was alive.
Her physical eyes were blind, but she was able to describe what you have in your home, she was able to tell the names of your family members, she was able to talk to your relatives who have passed away plus many other things.
The girl that has visited her told me the sign up list to see her was so long that it would take you a year until your number comes. There was always a big line of people waiting outside her house seaking her help from medical advice to marriages, etc.
If she mentioned about World War III I hope it doesn't go in a full scale military confrontation involving many countries. It would be even better if we don't get in such a stupid thing.

Derren Brown can do all of that and more, And he openly admits to using trickery. So you have to ask yourself, if apparently amazing things can be done with trickery why assume any time it is demonstrated that trickery, or more likely gullibility, Isn't being employed and that the real cause is a magical power?

It's also very telling that none of these people are ever prepared to undergo a scientific double blind trial. James Randi was ready to give out a million dollars, Simply for demonstrating that you can do what you claim to do, It's hardly going to surprise you that he never had to give out that money.

I did some Research about Vanga and I am sure she was far away from that "trickory" stuff.
Best way is ask people that have lived in the neighboring countries I am sure they won't lie to you. Ask Macedonians, Greeks, Serbs, Bulgarians (she was Bulgarian, Bulgarians probably will give you first hand info).
As a matter of fact I was told she wasn't asking for money for her help.
Before branding somebody a "cheater" do some investigation first.

"There's a sucker born every minute" as P.T Barnum said.
And DP is big enough to hold many of them.

Even if she didn't ask for money it doesn't suggest she isn't tricking people. She could have been tricking people for fame, power, a sense of importance.

I repeat, If apparently amazing things can be show to be a result of trickery it makes no sense to assume that some people demonstrating the same things are doing so as a result of a magical power. Just look at all the people who claim to have these powers, Then contrast that with the amount who are willing to undergo a double blind scientific trial to prove it.

You and many others have made up their minds without reading more on the subject.
So no matter what I or somebody else says on the topic it wouldn't matter for you.
As far as I know scientific trials have been done with her cooperation do some googling.

It's you who has already made their mind up ST12. You have jumped to a conclusion on the grounds that you wished people had magic super powers. I mean really, It's about time people grew up and stopped believing things just because they like how it sounds.

I can assure you they haven't, And if they have then she failed them. Do you not realise the implications of being able to prophesize the future?

I can prophesize that this argument will go on for a while with neither participant relenting.

    [prophecy feels good]

Anyways, great if she had those powers. But we have to wait till 2010 to see if she was right. ;)

The Viagra Prophecies state that "Should you experience an erection lasting more than four hours, see your doctor immediately."

But then again you probably shouldn't have taken that whole bottle...
