1200 impressions/day -> $1.2/day

I have an image gallery site (cat site) that is generating the above numbers from Google Adsense stats. The site is optimized quite well for google and adsense. Are their any other better ways to monitise the site.

 

1200 impressions but how many unique visitors? and how many page each visit? thats importsant stat. usually image galleries generate low CTR

 

wow...that's kinda bad. you know that if you refresh a page on your site it counts as an impression, right?

earnings drop sometimes and I think it's normal...

 

What stats program are you using? You should look at what keywords your readers find your site and run them through the adwords tool to see how much CPC they pay on average. You either have a low-paying niche and therefore must find ways to increase traffic or your site isn't optimized well to bring in traffic from higher-paying KWs.

For an image site that sounds about right. Images really detract from conversions, they take attention away from the ads. My two highest traffic pages have a lot ctr because they have a lot of images on them. If I were you I'd just get used to that kind of ctr and work on getting more traffic.

 

I may go up. There may be a bunch of factors limiting your earnings.

Low demand: Not alot of advertisers are looking to advertise on that subject matter.

Publicity: You may have a lot of impressions, but little uniques.

Clicks: The key to earnings are getting the users to click. If they are loyal users that come again and again, the are less likely to click on your ads which will bring down your earnings.

 

I think $1 eCPM is good for a gallery site, I started a thread to try and find out if it's possible to make 50c-$1 from PC & Console game screenshot gallery based traffic, an area that makes $1.5-$3 on average for gaming blogs and sites I am connected with, from what I just read it would be possible to get 50c-$1 despite it being one of the worst paying area's to be in. Always bugged me that new users convert better than loyal regulars too.

A bit more info on the traffic would be good, and I wouldn't mind seeing the site to see how you optimized the ad's, and because I just happen to like cats, PM me it if you like

 

Well least I learn something here, cause I never knew image sites didn't make much.
