Ok, let's say for example I want to rank in the top 10 for "earth4energy". Right now there are 84,000 people competing for the term. Is there any tool I can use to tell me how many backlinks (and whatever else I'll need) to get into the top 10 for this term? I know it's relevant backlinks that matter, but I'm just wondering if there's a tool that can give me some sort of estimate. Thanks in advance
Try IBP TOP 10 optimization, it guarantees that you your site gives 100% to his optimization report you will be ranked in top 10 position else refund your money.
Exactly. If there was a tool available, people would be able to figure out Google's algorithm and that's not going to happen.
I think there is no such tool available. Even if there is any tool like this made, I think the results that it will show will not be any where near being accurate.
You just have to keep on building backlinks and your placement will improve in the serps, good luck on finding that tool.
Yup, I'm just going to try and keep building links. My domain is brand new though. Hopefully I won't get banned or anything for building too many links to a new domain.
While there is not a tool that can do exactly what you're asking, SpyFu.com and Compete.com both offer plenty of information on sites you are targeting, certainly enough to help you get a game plan going to beat them in the SERPs. Frank
I think the advice people should give you is: - Build backlinks over time from reliable/old sites. - Find your competitors backlinks, submit to same place (do this over time). - Create interesting content to make people want to bookmark/backlink your site. - Make sure all none of the links on the site are broken and optimise the HTML. - Make sure your keywords are relevant to the content on the page, same goes for titles and description.
Thanks Frank and misohoni for the great advice! I'm just going to slow down on this a bit, and move onto promoting another product, then maybe later on start building links again.
to rank good in top10 it's not just the backlinks that is considered, but there are still many things you should pay attention such as onpage seo. just try IBP as hpseo suggest for analyse. but I also would suggest you to read more in this forums for more things regard ranking.
No. It doesn't only depend on the backlinks... Content comes first..then,the backlinks..and there are many other factors aswell. Try to be Natural, you'll reach it sooner or later!
I cant believe the comments here about NOT being a tool to do this.. Crikey.. not only is there a tool.. but it shows you the top ranked URL for a specific keyword.. who & how many backlinks that top ranked URL has.. and regardless of what anybody says the Google algorithm is heavily weighted in favor of giving higher PR + SERPS based on backlinks.. So once you have this info simply reverse engineer your site and you over take the number 1 spot.. 84,000 is not too bad really.. good luck
