They lose market share, but they are growing, coz many people are learning to surf.
but I really hope google chrome could gain market shares as more as possible, as quickly as possible.

you really sure you want that to happen?

Google is growing way too dominate in every aspect. I guess some competition would be good for everyone...

1% in four days.... wait and see. Most things google touches change in gold... i expect the same with Google Chrome. I think the marketshares of all internet browsers will change rapidly with the introduction of Chrome. We will see. I bought some new google shares :)

we'll see what Google does.... but I'll tell you.... I went to Firefox years ago and as soon as IE added the tabbed browsing I switched back to IE. Firefox fails too often and ties up too much memory. IE truly is superior in my opinion. But when you are already the tops, it's easy to lose market share.

I think google and microsoft should be checked if they violate Antitrust Law.

Anyway, I hope IE plays a little competition so that Firefox and Chrome wouldn't dominate.

This is great, Firefox and Safari appear to be the greatest winners. I really hope Google Chrome won't be a spoiler for them instead gets its share from IE rather than Firefox and Safari.

I doubt so, doing so means that Microsoft had nearly full control of the Browser market, won't it trigger anti trust investigations? Just the same as Google and Yahoo.....

Not that easy, Netscape had the first mover advantage, that was why it could sustained for sometime before falling to IE onslaught. IE has consolidated itself especially with its desktop OS. Typically users are already familiar with IE, it is hard for people to change their habits unless it is a far superior product.

Fire Fox managed a slight revival due more to its original reputation as Netscape, lots of users used Netscape, thats why they can adapt to Fire Fox. Chrome is entirely new. Google has the financial might but financial might can only go so far.

Eventually, it may be chrome vs IE.

Chrome is an open source code, allowing developers to add on to its features. If it proves as good as firefox, FF will definitely lose out in the long run.

It's funny you'd say that. In my latest blog post I covered conservatorship on the part of the government. Most recently, they are discussing taking over Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. I know it's a different set of laws and an entirely different issue, but it does spike my interest.

    Here's why...

We live in a capitalistic world, which has brought us much furthe than socialism, marxism, or communism ever would have. However, when companies surpass a particular 'size' the risk involved with their successes and failures start to effect those people who have no relation to the business!! So while I don't think companies should be penalized for growth, I think the consequences for failures should be much higher. I know Microsoft is a great company, and so is Google, but I think at such a size, these CEO's should be held liable for their actions in a much higher regard than the CEO of a 10 million dollar a year company. CEO's should not be able to simply resign with a pension if their companies writes off a $billion in losses. They should go to prison.
