Is this how affiliate marketing works?

Okay, one side of it, any way. I'm attempting to set up a page for product affiliate marketing. Is the only way to set this up is to list the products on your page and they click on it and it just forwards them to the other site?

Like if I'm trying to sell batteries, and someone wants to buy some, they click the link to buy them and it just forwards them to the other site? Is that how it works? Is there any way to make it look like it was bought straight from your site besides being the actual store?

No you could use banner advertising if you already have an existing site, opt in email advertising (with network permission as spam is bad) their are loads of ways.

Another one is affiliate referral revenue, where you referral other affiliates an make money from that, I do ok from referring affiliates to MoreNiche I get $20 per sign up and 5% of their sales for life (last link in sig) thats easy money really.

Thats one way of doing it and probably the most common.

Not really, its not really how standard affiliate marketing works really. If you want to do that I'd consider looking at drop shipping or creating a partner relationship with a store but thats off topic for affiliate marketing.

Yes, there are affilliatestore software packaged you can purchase that allow you to use the merchants datafeed as your own store. then, when a customer clicks to buy, they are simply taken to the merchants site to complete the transaction.

You can get a storefront for free with Amazon

You can make money by promoting an affiliate like pepperjam (in sig) which pays per signup

I make money with both, plus click ads on my websites
