HI there guys I'm starting to learn the general basis around SEO now, i have learnt Get Back links Directory Submit Forum Posting Blog Comments & Article Submissions, My question is though how often do i do this? All last week i was forum posting so now this week i will be article submitting, is it better for my site to do everything in 1 week like forum posting, directory submission, blog commenting & article submissions or is it better spreading them out over a few months or so? Also will it harm my sites SERP's if i submit my site to 100 directories in 1 day?
It's good to generally cover them all, not doing TOO much in any category too quickly, would be my advice. Forum posting and Blog Comments isn't as important as back links.
My Plan was to do: 100 PR5 Directory Submissions On Monday 5 Unique articles submitted to 5 article directories on Tuesday 10 Forum Posts on Wednesday 10 Blog Comments on Do Follow Blogs on Thursday Would you advise me to do this? How long does it take to see an effect on my SERP's?
You are going to fast my friend. Google will give you a penalty 30 for obtaining links to fast. Also, you are allowed 4 sig link in DP (hint) Most directories will put you on a PR0 page. Therefore no value Bologs are good if they are a DoFollow (The nofollow attribute on the link is of no value)
catanich: just because a link is on a PR0, it does not mean there is no value. The link still helps, just not very much for Google. It also still has potential for direct traffic. HydroJohn: Your plan sounds pretty good, but maybe spread out the directory submissions. I don't think you'll get a penalty for building links at the pace you suggested. If you keep going at that pace it will look fairly natural. As for how long it will take, that depends on the market. I see that you're already #7 on Google for 'psp demos'. That is really good considering it looks like your blog has only been up for a short period of time. Links usually don't have an immediate effect on Google rankings though. So you might not see much results for 2 - 3 weeks. Just keep at it and the rankings should follow. You might want to check where the websites above you got their links. You may be able to copy some of their links to surpass them.
Good luck! Are you going to pay for those links. If you find a PR5 that gives you a FREE link it will be most likely a "No Follow" link which won't help you at all.
No I was going to use a directory service on DP can anyone suggest one that is good and works? I will just go ahead with the 1 week plan then and let you all know how it goes
You need to do it all gradually, step by step. Don't just focus on doing one part of SEO at a time do a little bit of everything each day.
Exactly - diversity is the key. Don't get all your links from one source, mix up the type of links and try to replicate a natural link profile as closely as possible.
Ok so like do 1x forum post 1 x blog comment 1x article submit and 1x directory submit per day over the course of about a month or so? Is this a bettter startergy. Thanks for all the help so far guys
Beside these ,i think you can try to use free press relates, ads, rss. And you can increase your workload.
Check out this site www.links2countries.com she has a PR3 and only started the site on 2008-03-20. You can check out her links using this tool http://www.diagnosticoweb.com/ You will find she has over 18,000 back- links. So there are lots of ways of doing it. I was just trying to tell you that PR5 directories for the most part are PAID links. There are not too many of them that give free links anymore. Good luck with your effort.
Spread the link types throughout the month (not daily). Hit up the same method every month or so to get good diversity and natural-looking increases
Links should be build gradually and not everything done in a day and then stopped. Of course it would be advantageous to spread around using other SEO method rather than focusing on only one in a week. The plan with you outline over here should be ok.
Ok so just keep using my method but do it over a month or so, How long will it be then for me to start seeing some results?
