    Hey guys,

I need a new design for my site. This is a sports supplement website that sells direct to the public. I only need the first page and I don't need it coded. I will need the .psd though.

The front page needs to incorporate a logo which can be downloaded from here http://www.sendspace.com/file/d0kl2x

I am looking for something new and fresh and somehow different from my current website You can still use elements from my current website.

I want the main colours to be red and white just like my logo. I would like something with several rectangles in which I can place a photo and some small text with links to other pages. One website which I like in terms of use of rectangles is www.indianajones.com While I absolutely love their use of rectangles I find everything else too crowded.

It needs to be clean, professional and modern. I understand some designers reservations about posting on the thread but I still prefer entries on the thread (I will accept entries via pm though).

Payment will be made via paypal and the winner will need to send the .psd

I always pick a winner and always provide feedback. HOWEVER, in the highly unlikely event that I won't choose any of the designs I will still pick and pay the winner $75 but he doesn't have to send anything over and I will not use the design.
I would like to close this in about 1 week from this post or even sooner if I find the design that I like.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Good luck and thanks for considering this.

Yes I would like to keep more or less the same information. I am more interested in the element of design (position, size, style etc) because once I have the psd I have a good friend who is great with coding and once he has the first page he can do the rest.

    Thanks for considering this.

I look forward to your entry.

As a general observation I must say I absolutely love the idea of having some rectangles similar to http://www.indianajones.com/site/index.html So far the designs do not really follow this idea. If you look at my current site you will see I have quite a few rectangles (yes I love rectangles) but they're somehow not positioned properly. What I have in mind is a bigger rectangle where I can place my logo or the main text and the rest of the rectangles have a small photo and some text which you can click on and then take you to a new page.

@steve136: Thanks for the entry. It is a pleasant design overall but somehow not what I was hoping to get. The page you did seems a little too busy. What I had in mind is a rectangle with the main information: welcome, this si what we do blah, blah, blah and instead of having the buttons you placed on the left I would have some rectangles which you click on and then those rectangles take you to different section. For example: rectangle one if you're a bodybuilder click here, rectangle 2: if you're dieting click here, rectangle 3 latest news click here. Also I prefer a red and white theme similar to red and white such in coca cola and I feel (unless something wrong with my screen) your red is more towards pink.

@Matt_B: Thanks for the entry. Much appreciated. It's a pleasant design very stylish and modern looking and yet I feel it is somehow a little common. Please understand this is just MY view. Also one thing I dislike about my website is that I have to scroll down a bit too much. Having something with rectangles (please see my reply above to steve136) and similar to the www.indianajones.com site where once you open the first page you don't have to scroll much down is what I am after. I believe the winning design will be the one to make the best use of positioning some rectangles. I hope I am making sense.

Also thanks to everyone else considering this contest. Please do ask me if anything is unclear.

Thanks for the feedback, i've made some changes to the original design.

    1. The website is now a more darker red than previous.
    2. Remove navigation to allow for "blocks" down the left, keeping the same information as on your current website.
    3. Removed featured products and replaced with latest news.
    4. Removed logos and information from the bottom, so it's less cluttered.

Let me know what you think of this one,

Thanks. I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks for considering this. I look forward to your entry.

Steve136: A definite improvement. You done very well with the new red and it looks good. I could see myself using it. The only problem and perhaps it's my fault for not making this clear is that your design seems to be more of a portrait one than a landscape one. In my first post I indicated I like the indianajones website because of the many rectangles/windows and because you don't have to scroll down too much. The indianajones website is IMO a landscape format so you can see almost all the windows straight away without scrolling down. What I normally do is once I decide on the top 3 finalists I then suggest some changes and it's up to the finalists whether they decide to do those changes.

Matt B: thanks for the revisions. Sorry if I can't always make myself clear. What I mean in regards to your entry is that despite it having style (it looks pleasant colours wise, nice fonts, stylish lines, well balanced) it looks a little common by not having much creativity. You've done a typical banner position and again it's stylish but then everything else (the windows-rectangles) appear to just be plain. in a grid sort of way. I think if you could break the grid and say for example have one bigger rectangle where the mission statement would go and then have some other windows/rectangles underneath and some different ones to the side that would break the mold and make it more creative. If I don't make sense that is ok  but this is how I can explain it.

    Hi,

Again, thanks for the feedback - I've had one last go at trying to make it a more landscape feel -

I've cut the height by about 150px, added side blocks ready to add more content if required.

Thanks for considering this. I've seen some of your entries in other threads and they look good.

Hetzenauer: thanks for the entry. I see some potential and yet a "mistake". I am after a mainly red and white theme such as the red and white in coca-cola and you used a more of a burgundy colour instead of red. I can't fault it much and I believe with some alterations this could also be a strong contender. This is just a suggestion and I am not asking for changes at this early stage but I would like to have the main window made a little wider and little shorter in height and then have this main window on the left and the rest of the windows/rectangles on the right and some immediately underneath. I am hoping that when you open the first page you shoudl be able to see almost the whole site without needing to scroll too much down. Once again an entry with potential. Also I understand the designers have their own reasons for watermarking their designs I guarantee you I won't steal your design. It's just with your water mark it's a little hard to judge.

steve136: you just keep getting better and better. Let's see what the other designers can come up with because as you know the competition here at dp gets very fierce sometimes. Once I decide on the finalists that is when I will ask for changes.
