What I have learned from my experience is, A page impression is number of times a page get loaded or viewed. There is no connection between number of ad units in a page.

    I hope this is correct...

Depends upon how you have your view set. You can view simply the number of pages viewed that had ads on them (one page equal one view), or you can select to view number of ad units (each ad unit is counted), OR you can select to view the number of actual ads served (each particular ad is counted).

    Guys thx for explaining this.

So does it have anything to do with earnings?

Earnings are only when someone clicks the ad. If you have placement ads, then the number of pageviews (ad views) does relate to earnings, but on a very small scale. You may need 100s of views to get a few cents even.

The more traffic you get, the more page impressions there will be, and that will mean more earning. Traffic = $$$, the more traffic you get, the more you earn.
