Google Forcing Adsense Users To Change To Gmail Address?

Google have been trying to get their publisher clients to change their login email address to a Gmail one for a while now but there was always a text link to skip it and keep your old one.

    Until now.

I logged in today after not logging in for about a week and found they are now forcing publisher clients to change in order to use their adsense account.

    Why are Google doing this?

I have just spent 2 hours trying to find a username that is not already taken!

So that they can easily check whether you're emailing your friends and ask them to click on your ads or not :D

No seriously, I hate how Google know everything about us.

That sounds pretty odd to me.. Sure they can promote their own product *gmail* but I dont think they will force Adsense publishers to use them..

btw.. if you have an adsense a/c then that can double as your Google a/c for most other services.. just see if you can use the same log in..

After fluffing about for almost 30 minues I have managed to sort it out.

I am really starting to hate Google, not content with trying to own everything in sight they also do not wish to help you by producing clear instruction!

Doubt that google will actually do this, and no, they aren't currently doing it either.
