Hey people ive set up a modified car forum for people to chat bout modified cars etc... but im not sure how to build a community im not after an instant fix because i no it doesnt work like that but i want to get a steady flow of users. Ive done the following already but dont know where to go next; submitted my site to the main search engines submitted my site to 150 directories by hand sorted out the meta tags and page title put a link in my signature and posted on related websites started to post myself (but not too much) Have i missed anything or can anything else be done?? oh the sites www.wipcruise.com Thanks for looking Kieran
You need to get active peoples so your forum will be full with information ! Just take some affiliate product + AdSense
PPC search engine, article marketing and other forums similar to your own. Anything you can think that will bring in traffic. It takes time but if you try very hard the traffic will eventually come.
Get it jumped started with some "Posts and new threads" Create them yourself with some rich content to get it jump started. make these fake accounts just to show there are people there so that people will come and see and say "Hey this seems to be a pretty active forum, will join, contribute and perhaps stay" Thats what I have tested and it worked so far a bit that is. Also Try social networks, You can break it down and find these people in groups that related to your forum. Contact them and let them know about it. I use the free trial of friendblaster pro. Thats brings me some traffic.
that is a really bad idea because every time you post in your forum a little bit of you is left behind and if users start to see that the posts are fake they will lose interest. i think your best bet is maybe myspace and stuff like that google internet clubs with the same interests as your forum like look on myspace for modified car enthusiasts or something like that it will deff bring you alot more real users than posting fake threads good luck :]
Nah, Narutorocker is right, even if you do some sort of linkbaiting and have lots of traffic going to the blog, your still not going to hvae many signups if the forums look dead. Either go and guy some forums posts, its cheap, like $0.10 per post, and write a link baiting article(s). Submit to digg, wait for some traffic. Even a cheap contest would work well, something like a $50 iPod shuffle. Get the contest listed on SlickDeals.net and other huge freebies forum, and you'll have some more traffic.
I recommend hiring forum posters , and ask them to send out circulars on my space - perhaps advertise on my space anf facebook. along with do follow blogs
and a nice car article on ezine along with the href box at the bottom filled in with YOUR site link !!!
nice website.. i like it but that is website just so-so website not professional website. as we know .auto have 4 parts, engine, body, chassis and other.you didnot list it
