Hi, I'm back with a couple more questions
Should I buy .info or .com? I will probably have around 5 sites to start with, so that'll be about $10 for .infos and $30 for .coms...
What should I do? Splash out on .coms or buy .infos and spend the $20 for extra promotion etc?
    Thanks

Go for .info's and you can get good promotion here for $20.

.info s are better for proxies
cause they may get blocked sooner or later

HI all, were a new company, and have a persistent need for about 400 http proxies. Must be:
    -fast
-relatively permanent (ie none of these that decay in a few hours, were looking for something which would, in theory, never change.)
    -private
-would prefer diff C classes, but will take a general scattering across a couple C;s.
-We would prefer to test one out before signing on re-occurring.
Well have this same need as long as were in business.

PM me if you wave either suggestions or offers.
    Thanks.

Hey, I have just setup a brand new glype proxy, chucked a theme on and done some light promoting with 250 impressions (over 2 ad units) but no clicks on adsense. Obviously this is not enough to gauge it, but I am wondering what type of CTR and eCPM I should be aiming for realistically. Although I run a topsite, this is my first proxy and I am quite unsure what to aim for.

I know. You can see for yourself - ojmz.com. I didn't spend much time (5 mins) promoting yet but I will tomorrow. I was just curious as to what CTR and eCPM I should expect and / or aim for

i think this would be a good time for a NEW forum to start up as this is the start of the new proxy season realistically

People are asking the same things which have been covered 100s of times, things which dont change and this thread gets cluttered etc

(the other few i know off out there seem to be pretty horrible - no offense)

i have zero interest in running one (but happy to be an active user) and it is probably safe to assume there is little to no money in running one but i think if someone actually put the effort into it, we could all benefit

this is like sub 1995 style, one big ass thread!

I have considered it but a lot of people are set in their ways and stick to one or two forums only a brand new forum is hard to promote.

I do have a couple of ideas however not sure whether to put them into action yet i am already trying to grow a forum currently, i have 467 members and about 10 which are active it seriously does your head in ^^.

I have also seen two proxy forums appear in the last couple of months both of which seemed to quickly fail.

Oh and sorry for my spam message, but hell everyone else seems to be doing it :D

If I'm purchasing domains for a proxy, should I make the domains related?
    For instance: Coolproxy.com, niceproxy.com, hotproxy.com. Or doesn't it matter?
Will it sell for more if they're related?

A lot of people would argue and i am sure they "will" argue that putting keywords such as proxy or proxies in your domain name will increase the chances of your proxy site being blocked quicker however it totally depends on where you are planning on getting your traffic from.

If for instance you are planning on using search engine optimisation to bring you the most traffic to your proxy site then i do advise that you use keywords in your proxy domain name obviously the keywords you are actually targeting and not just "proxy" unless thats the keyword your targeting and if so good luck with that.

If your not planning on optimizing your proxy site then perhaps picking a theme none relevant to proxy sites would be better. I have used keywords related to schools or studying in the past and also used themes such as colours, fruits and other random themes.

    Hope this helps.
