Here is the story and I need your opinion!

    1. I purchased an item from a seller
    2. Never received the item
    3. Opened a dispute
    4. Seller is not going to reply - he has 2 days
    5. Will Paypal be able to recover the funds?

Anyone ever have the same experience? Did it work out for the good? the bad?

    Post your comments!

    Thanks

What kind of item did you purchased? If it was not mailed to your postal address, paypal will return your money.

If he will not reply then you will get your money back in your account.

If you did not hear from him, do escalate the dispute to Paypal and have them decide on the case. Do not keep it hanging for too long or else the seller may just withdraw the money and stop using the account and you can say goodbye to your money.

Basically, if Paypal rules in your favor, they will take the existing funds from the seller and refund it to you. If there no money there then the seller would be prompted to top up his account in order to pay you. If the seller refuses to do so, his account would be limited (so as to prevent him from doing anything with the balance on the account and prevent him from defaulting others). Depending on the dollar amount, Paypal may send collection agency to claim from him personally at his home or office.

However the sad reality is that if the person already plans to default others, he would have transferred the money out of the account and would have used fake details so that he cannot be located on the globe.

You'll recover the amount if the seller doesnt reply. But it will take some time before you get back your money !

Very good reply. +rep for you. I am waiting Paypal's response - the seller did not respond. Although the item was $55, this was my first dispute and everyone helped out. I will keep you guys updated.
